Better at Golf and Picking Clubs

When I first started playing golf with a group of my friends, I was a novice at the sport, and couldn’t even tell anyone which club was the best for shooting on the fairway or getting out of a sand trap. Now that I’ve had some experience with the game, I’ve actually gotten quite good at it. I’m still not good enough to play in the masters, but I can hold my own against the rest of my friends. I recently had to find the best lob wedge because the one that I was using before broke on me while I was taking a swing. (more…)

Keeps My Roofers Safe from Injury

Finding the best demarcation barrier is a tricky task. I own a roofing company and when my guys are just doing residential work, it’s not a big deal to worry about potential hazards they might face on a job. On a residential roof there isn’t anything of particular danger that they might run into. You have a few metal vents and maybe a chimney and that is about it. But when they are doing work on an industrial building, especially an older building that is being refurbished, that is when they face many obstacles that can result in serious injury or death.

What types of obstacles do they face? Let’s say we took a job to do repair work on the roof of an old warehouse that needs a lot of interior work because the structure isn’t sound. Sometimes we have to go ahead and do the roofing work before someone else has come out and shored up the building. That means there are parts of the roof that can collapse if someone walks over it. A demarcation barrier makes sure my guys know where it is safe to walk and what areas to avoid. Needless to say, it is crucial.

We used to use an old barrier before I got wise and looked for something that would work better. I found a company online that sells all sorts of safety equipment for companies in my line of work. The items looked extremely durable and the price was right so I purchased a barrier and then sent it out on some jobs. Setting it up was easier than the old barrier and I think it works better. The safety inspector from the city saw it and congratulated me on caring about my workers enough to get it. I’m pretty happy with it.
